Neat

a very ambient song, I really enjoyed it. The constant piano riffs performed well and I think despite it being somewhat basic, it speaks for itself.

And to have the song used the same day it came out!? Thats awesome I tell you. It's a new entry at the time I saw this, so hopefully it'll still be there, better go 5 that as well when i'm done here.

I would have liked to hear the piano play something on a higher octave, maybe even just the same riffs, it would have in my opinion gave it a more depth, more expression, though if you'd want to do something like that with an ambient piece is well up to you ;).

It loops great too!

In any case, good stuff WuSchell, enjoyed and loved this piece.

WuSchell responds:

Thank you for your review! :)

I don't think i've ever heard panning sounds at this degree that worked this well. Normally i'd tell you to go jump off something high for making things jump around this much, but this time really it worked. It was like a massage to my ears with audio, and the poor lil buggers get busted up evary day so they deserved it!

The synth mixup was pretty damn good, the instruments all worked well together, the beat pushing, and I can see why you said it still has a dancey feel to it, it does in fact have this dance NOW like quality.

The high bell like synths were what drove the ice cave feel, so having gotten the image across effectively, I say well done!

In any case I wanted to drop by and give you my support g-r4ve. Keep up the good fight! Keep em coming.

g-r4ve responds:

its funny how u people comment on these things I dont realize... I set a pan effect but completely forgot that I did. I see what u mean by a massage tho xD

Neat

That IS a pretty nice bass, though to be honest I felt it didn't really belong with the rest of the instruments. I mean you've got all these silky smooth instruments, flute, choir, pad, and then you've got this mean angry dirty bass down there making fun of all their mothers!

It's too bad, because I really did want to see this song completed, it looks done for the most part, but it held some crazy power.

It fits perfect with the whole ambiance scene. Did you intend the bass to pan like that? I felt it was a tad distracting, and ambiant music isn't supposed to distract?

In any case, good jorb!

what a strange remix of the original song?! At first I didn't make the connection then I heard "let me explaaain myyseeelf XO!" and then I was like, YES I KNOWZ THAT FRUM SUMWHERE! then I proceeded to look like three songs down and there it was, the original in all it's glory.

The transitions in this one are handled much better, I didn't feel there was any abrupt crashes or segments, it went all good.

I didn't find it random either, I could understand why it would be perceived as that, but really I personally thought the arpeggiated notes did much for the pieces chaotic, somewhat unpredictable core!

I could actually understand the grunting now! It says scary things :(

I don't know if this is Industrial, I felt it was more techno, but hey what do I know. I felt the ending was a tad abrupt, it didn't loop that well, but hey who cares about that at this point.

I think you did a great job working off this song. Kudo's points to you PinkWalrus!

Nicely done!

You know I never thought boss music could be euphoric. I always felt it had to be deep, depressing, angry kind of music, but this makes me think. This makes me wonder how else I could portray such things.

You've really impressed me here Winter. Really you've expanded well on trance and electronic arts so much! I suppose there wasn't very much furthar for you to go classical wise eh ;)?

I personally didn't see much wrong with it, but pulstate knows what he's talking about Winter, check out his works you will see what i'm talking about. The kid's on his way to doing big things.

I would say the quality is a little bad, but thats understandable.

I personally liked the quiet part the best, it just rang the right flavor for me.

To top it all off, another 5 from me Winter. I begin to wonder what those other two songs are going to sound like. Be sure to keep me updated!

Winterwind-NS responds:

the game is a platform shooter thingy, and it really isnt a serious type game. plus i didnt make this specifically for the game, they jus chose it for the level haha
and NO i am NOT moviing away from classical lol there is plenty of things to learn in the classical world. :)
again, sorry about the quality since its sooooo long.
thanks for the review

Hmm... so gentle. I had forgotten you played the piano (I do remember right... right?), and you play it very well here. Did you record your piano? It sounds like a recording, so real, so full of emotion.

There was a few... dissonant notes? I don't know if I heard it right, but I thought i heard something. It could however be how the song is meant to be played, one of the bad things of not having much theory is not knowing how to give somebody who does useful advice :P.

Can I ask for the music sheet for this piece? I would like to learn how to make music like this.

Great stuff Winter, glad to see you submitting again! Keep up the good fight eh?! Keep em coming. 5/5 from me.

Winterwind-NS responds:

HEY thanks for the review!
I think u meant dissonant chords, yes there are always a few of those in my pieces lol
and YES i would LOVE to hear some romantic pieces by u
il send u the score right away
thanks again brosef.

ABOUT THE SONG:

This is a piece composed for solo piano. The piece has 4 different voices at some parts. Quite melancholic but a bit cheery in some parts. Usage of diminished chords used to emphasize feeling of anguish and struggle. Intensifies towards the end, then descrescendos to the final chords.

Damn inspiring!

I am SO glad I forced myself to drop by your page before doing anything else today! I've started it off just right! You've used those brilliant crushing drums again, and the choir this time around is more brilliant, it conveys a greater spectrum of emotion, and they use vowels?! I am very interested to know where you acquired those choirs.

My personal favorite i'd have to say is when the solo voice comes in, and then is joined by the strings. That vocalist holds insane power, and it's repetition, the reverb you've applied to it, is perfect! It sent chills down my spine! Unlike so many songs out there, I was happy to hear it repeat again and again! Every time just as powerful as the last.

I just wanted to know if these choirs were saying anything, and they sounds so bloody brilliant.

This is just as good as "For the Last time", and it brings me as much joy.

I have to cut this off here madboss, anything else I write here will just be classified as ranting and raving. Easily a 5, and the fourth 10/10 i've ever given anybody! You deserve it, really.

madboss responds:

Well thank you that you visited my page and dropped a review. I worked really long on this one. Firstly I wanted to create that melodies that fulfill my requirements (almost one week front of the keybords editing the themes) than another one week in front of the computer to desing every note and match to it's place that I think it's good.

And at last I got some new refill set for my reson. The choirs are from SoundScan vol28 Acoustic SynthChoir - refill set. It's a brilliant collection after my opinion because the NN-XT samples are only 3-4 megs big but they sound like real one. I used this mixed choir for support and a child choir for the higher solo notes. The choirs not saying anythig - just Ah, Eh, Ih, and in the child choir section Oh sounds.

And I got some new and more banging drums - and I used them. But this time I don't wanted to fell into the mistake I fell in "For The Last Time" - I used less drums. Less is more I think is true for these kind of hard drums.

So I'm happy that you liked it and I couold gain your points. I hope I could inspire you for better work ;)

Impressive again

i've been listening to this track for nearly an hour straight (while on AIM, you know why ;)), and I must say during that whole hour this song never once grew old, or abrasive on the ears, which is a great quality, especially with your kick that thumping. Normally in electronic songs when there is a heavy kick it will usually give me a head ache, because they either did not equalize it properly, or it was too loud.

I can safely say this was not the case here.

As usual there is the euphoric kind of feeling, so I assume that is the type of trance you are best familiar with.

As usual your filter works are rather exceptional, i'm not too familiar with filters in Reason (heck I don't use them that much in my own program :P), but I do know that mastering them, using them exactly where they are needed is a big task, and requires a lot of patience, which is why a lot of electronic music here gives me a head ache, because they didn't spend the time for the sounds.

In any case, another 5 from me, keep up the good fight!

Pulstate responds:

Thank you alot. Yes i love prefecting my kicks, and i'm delighted you enjoyed this. :)

Impressive

You seem to have a great deal of euphoric energy going on in your pieces, and I really appreciate that kind of qualities in trance music.

If I am not mistaken the bass here is similar to the one you used in Unity of Earth (Pulstated), it carries out well that synth. I did not find as much variety in this piece as I did there, but this piece does carry out excellently. I feel it would make a great ambient track

I know Trance songs can last up to several minutes, often in the hour region, I think this song would be perfect to be a part of such a long piece, it gives that feeling of just going on, continuing, constantly giving off this energy.

In any case, this too was a great track.

Pulstate responds:

Thank you for taking your time to review this, i appreciate it mate. :)

Quite inspiring.

I havn't heard the originals so I won't be able to compare these, but I will tell you what I think of this piece in general.

I found this song to be very well produced, it has many overtones of energy, and loads of well co-ordinated synths. It kind of reminds me of Castles in the Sky, but not melody wise, the feel it gives me, this euphoric rush.

I am rather impressed by the filters you've pulled off here, really, I would expect to hear this on an album.

That period in the song where you have that faded out pulse synth, and then it jumps into another energetic segment, that part was in my eyes the most perfect part. The cymbal sounds were maybe a tad too loud and abundant there.

All in all I don't have much more to say, anything else I write would only be classified as ranting, so i'll cut it here and go to the other pieces.

This is a great track, a well deserved 5!

Pulstate responds:

Your my favourite reviewer, this gives me huge confidence mate, thank you so much. :)

I consider this account an important chapter in my life
