Nifty!

Well the song is definately very well produced, sounds are at acceptable levels, the vocals are relatively understandable, the screaming is top notch, but... I did not hear any goats being sacraficed, and that is just wrong >:(!

WRONG I SAY!

There is a very large silence gap at the end, not a huge issue, but something to watch out for future tracks.

You guys are pretty damn talented.

Who is whistling?! Is that a synth whistle, because thats some sick ass whistling, the melody was pretty eerie, and moving.

All in all, it was another great track, this one I think is currently my favourite amongst what you have. So this definately gets my 5 bomb. Keep them coming guys!

Quickbeam responds:

The reason it sounds so great is because we record in real recording studio. You see I know this guy who knows this guy.......it's complicated, but trust me when i say how much of a relief it is when you finally record something you have been working on for a whole week. And about those goats, i didn't kill any left as i have to save them for Thanksgiving. The silence isn't really that bad, i kinda just ignored it and let it go how it was. No use wasting more time when i have none. The whistling was a Synth whislte as i can't actually whistle properly. I know, i'm a retard! Anyway, thanks for the review and i hope you can review my next track soon.

Sweet...

alright! Solo time :D!

Okay now just waiting for the song...

okay here we go!

The beginning was different then last time, still had the panning, but not so much, and it passed by quicker, so yes, this was good.

The progression was as good as I remember it, and if i'm not mistaken the recording is better sounding, everything seems to function well together now. I can understand the lyrics! Yay!

The progression of the melody was also spiced up if I am not mistaken, it changes around, and this is a + point area.

I also didn't notice the back up vocals from last version but it's there, and the effect is actually pretty neat! That back up vocalist has a pretty good voice.

Oh, IT'S TEH SOLO!

Yeah man! This is what I'M TALKING ABOOT! headbanging beat!

And a nice raw deep voice to go with it. I can never do that voice, it rips apart my poor wittle vocal chords.

Hmm, I felt the ending could have used a more "umph" kind of ending you know. Like a nice splash, but this worked too.

All in all, I think this was a much better version, good stuff to all of you! Keep them coming! My 5 bomb are belong to this.

Quickbeam responds:

Yeah, the reason it sounds different is because we had to re-record it to add in everything again. But i agree with you that this is much better than the demo. I also thought that the solo lacked a bit but you didn't really seem to notice that. Yeah, the ending was a little bit sudden but i thought it suited it after the progression bit. But do think i should have ended it faster so it fitted with the sudden pause and ended nicely. Thanks for your review man! I wish this could have got a better score, too bad it was massed.

Neat

The beginning threw me off my chair. I did not see it coming at all X_x.

But still it was an interesting experience. The background bass and drums gave it a very interesting feel, the piano like synth gave it a jazzy, ambiant sensation, which was supported by the bell and pad.

The bass and bass kicks are overpowering in my opinion, you should try making them quieter, to allow the rest of the song come out.

In any case, though it was short, it was very impressive. Kudos. I would like to invite you to listen to some of my works sometime. Keep them coming Paulie! I can hear some potential in you.

Paulie-Wallie responds:

Thanks for the tips, I'll try to make my future submissions longer.

hmm, you have some very clean, crisp recordings here, the track is quite enjoyable, the vocals are hard to understand over the guitars.

At the very beginning you had some intense panning on the guitars, I found this effect difficult to listen to, I would not advice doing that again, perhaps a slight panning, but like this I thought my earphones were broken X_x.

Also I would have liked to hear a ripping guitar solo somewhere, it seemed to be the same progression again and again, and though it's a good progression I think it should have taken a rest every once in a while.

Overall though, it was a great track, good stuff guys, a 5 well deserved. Keep them coming!

Quickbeam responds:

Well this is only half of the actual track. But if you want me to, i will play that awesome solo just for you! Yeah and sorry about the start, we started recording a little to early. But i managed to mix it a bit to make it sound nice and fit a bit more with the song. Anyway, thanks for the review man! It means a lot to me!

Awesome.

I don't know if you will ever read this, but I decided that it was long overdue to go to your page, and hear once again those melodies that I enjoyed so much from you.

I'm quite saddened to see that it seems you have left, but I suppose everybody does what they want to do right?

This piece was as usual your style, which I enjoy a great deal, the melody work stable, well structured, well flowing, and just damn entertaining. This type of music does not grace newgrounds often, and so having lost you is no small blow.

I suppose it's my current state of sadness, but the song is quite sad in my ears, fragile, timid, bold, like a departure.

In any case LoneEagle, truly I have no thoughts on how to improve this piece, it was very well done. Best of luck to you on whatever you decide! My 5 bomb belongs to you.

LoneEagle responds:

Hello Maestro, long time no see. Thank you very much for all the kind words you wrote in this review... goes straight to the heart.

I won't have as much free time as i used to have back then but i will make an effort and take some time to visit your music page and drop you some well deserved reviews.

Until then take care.

Good stuff!

Well I just HAD to review this, I love teh feeling of floating.

In any case, the synths were pretty laid back, but not very diverse at all, and the constant panning wasn't entirely that useful, however I did find the melody work quite moving, there were some really good parts in there, some really happy, some really sad, and some darker parts.

My only qualm would be using a lower pitched synth, and perhaps a variation of them.

All in all though, good stuff! Keep them coming!

EchozAurora responds:

I never responded to this review?! Whaa? Who knows.. maybe I'll redo this song eventually.

This good sir = win!

I found it very god damned entertaining! I loled and loled hard!

I didn't have anything to add or remove, just wanted to support this song and yourself, good stuff, crisp clean recording!

Khuskan responds:

Let this be a lesson to us all. Don't drink and produce.

Neat

I don't know why anybody would think this song was anything but cheerful, I thought it was pretty straight forward, happy go lucky feeling. Like a dangerously over cheerful boy just walking all happy and smiling at everything.

The bass was a pretty neat effect, the piano melody was also pretty simple, but effective.

I know you said going more classical didn't work out for the piece, but have you considered a pad perhaps in in the background? It would serve to make great ambiant kind of feel below this cheerful melody.

Other then that, I don't really have much more to say about it, a good piece, enjoyable. Good stuff, keep them coming!

DSMagnum responds:

I tried using a lot of pads. It's just that the pads in Garageband suck.

Thanks for reviewing!

Sweet

How could I NOT review a piece said to have many acoustic instruments?!

The song is as it says, an ambiant piece, it truly delivers. It's a solid, laid back theme, that I listened to while I did my work, for quite a long while too.

The bass wasn't THAT horrible in my eyes, it did the job, but as SadSpoon mentioned it COULD be better, not sure how exactly, perhaps better sampling.

that flangered? percussion with the gated synth proved for quite an interest effect, I enjoyed the massively reverbed piano, just kinda... washed all over the place, which I suppose if you were trying to play a complex melody would fail horribly, but in this case it = win.

I know this is an ambiant track so I didn't really expect much to happen, it's not a track you should be paying great attention to.

In any case, it was an appreciated track. 5/5 bomb for you.

Keep them coming cornandbeans, also why is there like a 30 second air time at the end of the piece?

cornandbeans responds:

Yea, ambient stuff is great for working. It's easy to listen to, and it resonates a energy that really slows you down to think. I kinda get lost in it sometimes, you know? ..Good ambient tracks that is. I've heard some real abominable tracks out there. hehe. :P

The bass was something I really didn't pay great attention to, it got the groove going; that's pretty much all I needed.

Oh, and I'm glad you picked up on the flanged filters. I was trying to give off a trancy feel almost like moving.. a little diversity, you know? I like those songs where you just flow in and out. It can get boring if you get outside of ambient.

Ahh.. and the piano. That was intentional. Have you ever heard Porcelain by Moby? It was either that or Soft Pianos, I forgot. Eh. Source of inspiration if you're interested.

The silence at the end is just an error in FL that I haven't learned to deal with. Gar.. it can get pretty annoying. You can see in my older tracks that the same exact thing happened a lot. :P

Again, thanks for the well though out review!

Sweet

This one is more persistent, more energetic, with tones of hope, suffering, and a fierce determinition, facing forward, and leaving the dead memories behind.

At least thats the kind of feeling i'm getting.

The quick violin stabs are quite interesting, with that wooden block sound (sorry I don't know it's official name ;)

In any case, the song also has great tones of epic power, and so have you considered using the French Horns for this piece? French Horns are excellent instruments for epic feelings, I use them in nearly every song, then again I am mostly sad epics, so that may explain a bit.

Is that a harmonica sound near the middle with the snare? It has a pretty good jazz feel to it, which reminds me of the movie blade runner, good sci fi movie, filled with these ambiant cored pieces, you should definately check it out sometime if you get the chance.

In any case, this too was a pretty damn good track, keep them coming DeadEndRoad!

DeadEndRoad responds:

Thanks for this review too.

The ideas I get for this are kinda random. I'll just be sitting around and I think "I think I should make a song like this!" This one actually thought of one night while I was restless and couldn't get to sleep.

That sound you heard around the part with the snare drum wasn't a harmonica, it was a muted trumpet.

And again, thanks for your review! Hope to talk to you again...

I consider this account an important chapter in my life
