Chillz fo sho

Though i'd drop a review while i'm here... again... *sigh*.

In any case I really like the mellowness of this piece Curry. That bass especially is what I feel made this piece that extra something else. It added the ultimate "chill" atmosphere, which I feel is quite Newgrounds related. It loops quite well and doesn't get tiring despite it's simplicity.

What is that percussional sound you have playing every measure?

An interesting mix of sounds for sure, diverse and chilled, again, why I thought this fit the bill quite well!

keep up the good fight Currie, and keep em coming!

curriemaster responds:

Hey Maestro!

I appreciate the review a lot man, I felt that it was quite a chilled tune as well. I was getting stressed about studying for exams, so tried to record something to alleviate myself after I saw the new MAC topic. Turned out pretty well I think, I felt better anyway :P.

Maybe a little too chilled for the AF people but hopefully Tom will enjoy it! Cheers for the comments mate, Ill be looking forward to listening to some of your newer tunes :).

This too was quite great

I really like this piece. It reminds me of those pretty remorseful days. Like gazing upon the most wonderful scene, in which the thing most precious to you was destroyed. Be it a lover, a close friend, an item of great value, something that lingers great pain to great happiness.

It's rather short, but thats okay, for what is there, it is quite something else.

The oboe leading drive was a perfect choice for this song. There is a bassoon in the background? Clarinet maybe? I do not recognize that instrument playing with the background chords, but that too aids the song.

In my own personal taste I would have preferred to hear a flute and oboe duet later on in the song, to express the beauty side of this song more, for that is what I feel when I hear it. Sadness, and Joy. Bitter harmony.

The ending was well created. A soft fade out would have worked also, but this too was acceptable.

I also wonder, what if some trumpets/trombones were playing with or even playing a counter melody with the oboe? It would produce a more military requiem kind of feel, which may not be what you want at all, but it is a suggestion none the less.

I Liked this song, like all your others Beacon. I look forward to new pieces from you! I'd also like to invite you to check out some of my work sometime! Keep up the good fight and keep them coming!

Beacon515L responds:

Thanks.

It's a bass clarinet, just so you know.

I might do a military thing...

And your work is brilliant.

Thanks for reviewing!

Very slick!

I grew up on this cartoon! So I was so damn pleased to see a song of it up here!

As stated the piano is too loud, but I didn't find anything else out of order.

The sound quality of these pieces are incredible, and the transitions of mood in this piece is what really gets me. From such a heroic, to a darker feel.

My personal favorite is when those treble strings come in with that trombone? section.

Bloody brilliant in my opinion.

As I don't really remember the original song that well, I do not know how much of this is similar to the original song, and how much if any is new. But in either case, it was very well done. Keep up the good fight Beacon! I am glad I found you!

Beacon515L responds:

Thanks!
This was done in Garritan Personal Orchestra, that's my secret to realism...
I listened to the DVD version, so it's pretty faithful, or as faithful as it can be when you do it entirely by ear. Which in my case, is pretty alright.
I liked that bit as well, it was the only bit I DIDN'T screw up in some capacity...
Ah well, thanks anyway.

Nicely done!

I love the feel of this song!

The sparse, yet insanely varied percussion beats gives off the perfect vibe for the instruments. The melody itself seems to resonate with a more desert, arabian sensation.

The song loops perfectly.

This VST sounds like Edirol Orchestral. Am I correct? Or Synful Orchestra, one of those.

I love it when the oboe and the high strings start together with that percussion splash. I felt that second the song took on more strength upon itself.

And when those strings and oboe drops to reveal that solo violin.

That melody was quite interesting. Quite sad and well accompanied with the harp.

It is a simple song for sure, but one I really enjoyed listening to. Work well done Ludzix, work well done. I'd like to invite you to check out my work sometime, keep up the good fight and keep them coming!

Ludzix responds:

Missed - this VST is Miroslav Philharmonik ;)

Soothing

Hey MpGrill

This song is quite simple. It progresses simple, and smoothly, though that being said, the melody it plays is actually a very very interesting melody.

There were some notes that clashed, but overall it was a very subtle, and enjoyable track. The strings in the background was nice, but the chords they played went from sad, to tense, too often.

Keep up the good fight MpGrill! I'd like to invite you to check out my work sometime. Keep em coming!

MpGrill responds:

I wanted to make it a little bit simple ...but thanks for your review!

Ive checked your audio tracks..theyre great:)

X'D

How could I NOT review this piece!? It's by far the best hip hop track EVA!

The beat is actually incredibly well done, and Stamper you have an awesome voice. Very crisp, very clear, and quite humorous.

I applaud you sir!

You sir, get the fifth straight tens i've ever given!

I applaud the effort!

you know, I really liked the melodic line in this piece! The synths need to be upgraded, the strings the synths in general, but moving past all that, focusing on the melody itself, this piece shows some interesting potential.

When the strings and the chords meet, there is a fair deal of clashing there, be sure to watch out for dissonance (or when 2 keys play right beside each other), as this generally creates an uncomfortable feeling (very useful for tense, scary moments!)

I liked it when the bell like things joined in.

From that reverse symbol I take it you use Fruity Studio's? Which one?

I would highly recommend using Sytrus as a great starting kit, some amazing synths there. The pads would provide you with great background sounds.

In any case, I admire your effort Alex-J, keep up the good fight and keep them coming! You can go as far as you want.

Alex-J responds:

Hey thanx for the tips! As you said, yeah Sytrus would surely help but I didn't even know my music would end up being not bad so i just tried blending some new stuff in it. Btw I use fruity studios 6 and 7 (because i dont always use same computer).

Thanx for taking your time to come by and review my music, this is a good example why newgrounds audio site is great, because really good artists take the time to give help and comment less advanced music makers. Its like if everyone could talk to a famous person whenever they needed it.

So I appreciate your review and ill review more of ur stuff cya!

:'( so sweet

Hello Bosa.

This song my friend, is pure brilliance. It's such a simple song, with chords and the piano... but my sir, those chords and that piano.

Brilliant. Just... brilliant.

Losing somebody close to you is never easy, and it does tend to leave scars, but I am a firm believer of the saying "The most beautiful things, comes from the darkest places", and you happened to have proven this saying.

That punishing percussion boom at the end, worked for it's purpose INCREDIBLY well.

When that flute came in, it was a tad sudden, but it was not unappreciated. The melody it plays, just like every other instrument here, plays wonderfully.

Loops awesome too.

Brilliant Work Bosa. I am glad you have not given up on us yet. Thank you for sharing this work with us! Easily a 5/5 from me

Bosa responds:

When a loss comes my way, I try my best to brighten up my life to where there isn't so much saddness. Instead of getting angry, I'm trying to remember the good memories I had.

Impressive!

the flute you used in this song is brilliant! Along with that lute I believe. Did you get these as a soundfont? If so, I would be forever in your depth if you told me from where! I loved the atmosphere and feel the melodic line with that instrument created.

The description of the piece fits in perfectly. As stated it reminds me of a village. Solemn, dedicated.

When that lute and woodwind took off, that is by far my favorite part. The string chords that were added layer only proved to amplify this affect.

The ending was abrupt, but the long loops flawlessly.

Well done... really this was something else. Keep up the good fight and keep them coming! I'd like to invite you to check out my work sometime Ludzix!

Ludzix responds:

The flute I used is the piccolo from Miroslav Philharmonik plugin. Thx for the review =D

Sweet

this is a brilliant loop. I am glad somebody is finally taking this audio portal for what it is meant to be.

I am very interested in knowing how you got that guitar sound. I would appreciate any wisdom you'd shower my way.

Really solemn, your keywords match up perfectly.

Keep up the good work Loopmaster.

Loopmaster responds:

Hello Maestro. I'd like you to know that I really appreciated this review. Thank you.

That guitar is a soundfont I found while I was "Googling". Plus a hell of a lot of quality altering effects slapped on it.

Thank you again.

I consider this account an important chapter in my life
