So for a few years now i've been part of a game dev project and we've slowly refined this game more and more and more (and more...). We need some help with the finishing touches. And that's where you guys come in now.
If my all caps has drawn your attention and by odd chance you're also capable of creating sprite art BOY DO WE NEED TO TALK. I have infinite faith in the crowd here on Newgrounds so i'm hoping to get to talk to a lot of really neat people. So by all means, leave a post here, or pm me. I WANT TO HEAR FROM YOU.
With that said, here is the job posting!
What is Stone and Mana : Legends of the Underverse?
S&M is a turn based strategy board game where players conjure powerful avatars equipped with unique abilities and items to claim dominance and take map objectives.
Who are we?
NONE OF YOUR BU-we're actually a small but dedicated group of developers who have been slaving away at this project for about 3 years now! We've come a very long way with this and we're not going to stop until we're totally happy with the game. This may mean it will take a while for it to come out, but it will come out as glorious as we envision it.
What do we need?
We need somebody who is well versed in sprite graphics. What we need is to take the illustrations of our avatars and represent them on the board game. The sprites need to have various animations (idle, take damage, cast spell, etc). And naturally they must do this in all 8 directions of the board game.
How big does the sprites have to be?
The avatars should be relatively large as we want to have them look good when scaled down. Example totes attached at the bottom
Who are we looking for?
We're looking for anybody who knows their business and loves their craft. Somebody accountable and who can deliver work on time. We don't need you to have had 20 years AAA experience or have gone through 10 years of education. Somebody serious, somebody talented and ready to put in the time. Naturally this is somebody we want to build a long term working relationship with since the game will be very regularly updated and new avatars (and their respective skins) will need to be addressed as well. We are also seeking someone with imaginative style and are familiar with sprite styles from past games like Final Fantasy Tactics or Pox Nora and is able to find a nice middle ground with our current aesthetics.
Okay, so what are you paying?
Literally the million dollar question (but we're not paying a million dollars). Since we develop this as resources build up we do not have a set budget planned. We would like to hear from you what your rates would be, some examples of your work. But make no mistake, this would be a paying gig.
There we have it. Thanks for reading!

USING THE DIVINE POWERS OF WWW.RANDOM.ORG AND COUNTING FROM THE BOTTOM UP, THE WINNER IS KEMBRY. LONG MAY FORTUNE GRACE HIS FINGERS AS HIS CROSS HAIR TARGETS FOES UNFORTUNATE ENOUGH TO SEE THE LIGHT GLISTEN OFF HIS SCOPE.
Thanks for playing everyone, next freebie coming I don't know when ^_________^
So I was given a free copy of Nuclear Dawn (googles it) from Steam. I guess it's a publicity thing since I bought it ages ago back when it was in Beta.
Basically it's a hybrid between an FPS and RTS. You get one player to be the "commander", whom sits in the RTS seat. They are responsible for building the defenses, teleport points, giving instructions or alerting the other players of nearby targets/threats. They also have some commander powers like heal or poison cloud.
Then you've got your FPS mode. You pick one of 4 classes (spy, tank, regular soldier, and sniper). Your job is to keep pushing the enemy back and work with your squad to ultimately destroy the enemy HQ.
Anyways, I loved this game, it's quite good. And I figure, somebody else would enjoy it. So this is how it works. Comment here if you want the game. When this post leaves the front page I will randomly award it to somebody. You should have Steam and stuff if you want to play it of course :u.
EDIT: A valid concern came up that this might be a scam 'n stuff, so I hope taking this screenshot helps ease that. Here's the game in my inventory, and my steam name as well!

Anyways, one of my favorite champions in that game is Karthus, and I figured, why not give him a lil something something.
Here that something something is!

This is a simple note of appreciation to the site i've visited nearly every day for the past 4 years. To the place where everything started for me, to the great friends that have come and gone, and to great friends yet to be.
This site has changed my life and I often forget that in between rants about what needs to change and what is broken. Forget change, I have based my career, built everything using here as a platform.
So to the staff, to the regulars, and to everybody else. This simple note is for you ^____^.
no homo... except for you AlmightyHanz, full homo for you :3

So last weekend was Global Game Jam 2010. For those who are not aware of what teh Global Game Jam is about, LINK
Essentially you make a game in 48 hours. I participated as our school wanted a shot at it. Strangely enough in our game dev program I was the only one who was doing audio so I had to do everybodies audio needs. 4 projects, 48 hours, full audio treatment? Hellz yeah! Bring out the big guns!
I slept 4-5 hours collectively since it started. About 14 of us guys got together and we locked ourselves in this pretty little class room with our computers, and we slept there and worked there and it was awesome.
Only 2 games came out enough for displaying but those 2 hold huge potential and will be sold on XBox live arcade soon. The two games for those interested are
I'm very proud of the work I was able to do for both these projects and the potential they both hold. You should go play Timmy in the Rain especially, the song for that one is so ridiculously epic it sits way off base with the game itself, which was part of the plan.
Too tired to keep writing, 5:30 am and no sleeps yet means I r dead tomorrow. I'll update later then.
(also votes for those projects would be so awesome ;D!!!)
