Sweet!

Hey TheMaskedJew!

Quite an interesting beat you got going on here! I'm not a heavy blues fan, but I can definitely see this being damn useful for the game. Makes me think of an icy place for some reason. Might have been that high panned piano near the middle.

What samples are these? I do not recognize them.

In any case I don't have too many words of criticism for you, but I wanted to drop you my support anyways, you've got some damn neat stuff here! Keep up the good fight and keep em coming!

TheMaskedJew responds:

Thanks for the kind words. Hopefully, the vast array of generic techno submissions will help me in the audio contest. Anyhoo, there are no samples, this is all original material... done on a mac. That's also not a piano, it's a Wurlitzer, a wholly wonderful relic from the Ray Charles era.

I just got around to hearing some of your work. It's 100% not crap. Good on you.

Have a nice day.

Sweet

I really liked this piece. The piano melody, bewitching, and exotic.

I really liked the choirs here. What are you using for them? They don't sound familiar to me, but they do pack a wallop in their fade out entrance.

The strings that came in later, turned the song into a quite happy oriented one. It started off rather dark in my opinion. An interesting morph.

The song loops very well too.

There's not much to critique on this piece. I felt it was really complete, I did however still want to drop my support. Keep up the good fight, and keep em coming!

DigitalDan responds:

Thanks again!

Your reviews are extremely constructive = billiant! Thanks for your support as always.

The choirs were an experiment in harmony between the strings.

Brilliant

quite an excellent piece Bosa. Gentle, sweet, lively. It does not exactly give the air of finding somebody, but it gives that spirited feeling. Unbreakable, passionate. Cannot be stopped, things like that.

When the drum rolls came in, it became a more military approach. Now it's not a single person anymore, but a group of people who all share the same spirit. Cannot be broken.

The ending makes me think of a scene, where one of the group members runs off to be by himself. He kneels behind a broken wall of sorts, and thinks back on the earlier days.

A very interesting image indeed. I loved living in it. I have no suggestions to make the song better, but I wanted to drop my support regardless. Keep up the good fight, and keep em coming!

Bosa responds:

Sure thing, buddy! I had some thing s in mind while I worked on this piece and I believe all of it was made out well. Thanks for the support, and I hope to see more from you as well.

:D

Heh, not a casual listening song eh?

The notes are flying by thats for sure. You said it wasn't live played, but damn I thought it was. If I could play this song, i'd feel like a monster, because only monsters with their monster fingers could play it!

I don't really have any words of suggestions, I mean this is like totally already a classic. Can't improve those, so i'll comment on how wonderfully you've programmed those notes!

Bravo sir, bravo indeed. Keep up the good fight!

SolusLunes responds:

The reason it sounds live played is because I actually added velocity to each and every note (well, most, at least) to make it sound realistic. Probably wasn't the most efficient way of doing it, but what the hell. :D

Neat!

Hello Grillpie. I was told by a friend who was looking for loops that i'd find this page rather interesting, and when I got here, I had to check this piece out!

I like the build up percussion you had going on in here. It has some interesting beats to it, though I am reluctant to say it keeps the song together, it does add to the stability of the piece overal.

The song also loops pretty well, so full marks on that.

I would have liked to hear some more diversified chords for those strings in the background.

I like the oboe melody towards the end. A happy riff.

overal it was a lively loop, and quite enjoyable. Keep up the good fight and keep em coming!

Grillpie responds:

:D Thanks! Who was that friend of yours?

(This is SBB on another account btw)

A little messy

hey DjSpaz

This song has some interesting ideas behind it, but it kinda sounds like you took some random riffs, and tossed them together.

The melodic line didn't really mesh well together, and the panning on the instruments sometimes got irratating.

Good effort, but definitely watch out for what you put where. It seemed somewhat unco-ordinated.

Keep up the good fight DjSpaz! Keep em coming. I'd also like to invite you to check out my work sometime.

DjSpazTech responds:

Thanks for the input. Im sorry the song was not one of my better ones. But at least now I know how to change my mistake =D And for sure, i'll check out your stuff too peace out!

DAMN IT SIMBA!!!

I grew up on this song dj-Nate... god damn it's brilliant. I liked the sudden speed up you had, but I wonder about these insanely sudden transitions of genre It seemed you started off the the theme sad, then sped it up all angry like, then you introduced this electronic melody that I couldn't really make out to be the theme in any way. Seemed kinda random.

After that though, you just piled on the awesome with more awesome.

I wish the file hadn't been lost, I really would have liked to hear this finished.

Keep up the good fight dj-Nate!

dj-Nate responds:

Thanks Maestro. I know it's pretty random. It was my prototype song I wanted to show some few peeps on aim before I really put forth my mastering and work and such, but I completley forgot to save. :(

But thank you for enjoying what little i have. :)

Slick

Hey pitbulljones!

So I decided to drop by, I brought several grape juice boxes to sip and enjoy whilst listening, and wouldn't you know it, this is the perfect type of song to listen to while bopping your head and sipping your grape juice...

god damn I love this grape juice.

In any case the song itself is mixed really well, the synths in the background, though some have said it doesn't mix well, I actually like the dirty synth. It adds to me, a very interesting layer on top of the song. That riff that plays throughout the entire song, gets a little tiresome, thankfully you layer so many things on it, it doesn't get too tiresome.

Still, I would have appreciated hearing it played either by a different synth, or mixed up.

Other then, bloody brilliant pit. I salute you, and give you a juicebox. Enjoy it, and keep up the good fight!

pitbulljones responds:

Her Maestro', thats a couple now how think this is a boppyity tune, it's nice to see it's got peoples attentions in that way. Ah you like the dirty synth, yay!!!

The opening riff im assuming here, yea can see where you're coming from with that, i probably should have took it out here and there and added it, I don't think of these things until pointed out but it's a very good point.

Thanls for the review againa and the jusicbox and i'm glad you enjoyed it too.

PM me whenever you need a review i'll come a running.

Slick!

hmm, I love this song. It's just a brilliant track and carries so much passion with it.

My first thought were directed at those bells. I didn't quite like them to be honest. It seemed like you added them on top of the original melody and they disrupted the flow of the song.

When the choirs started coming in, I was instantly reconsidering.

I really liked it when the choirs came in, you did good work with them, truly added layers upon layers to the piece.

In fact, I would say the bells actually helps at this point. You need to listen to them for a bit, get used to them, but well worth it after the adjustement.

The ending choir note was held for far too long. I realize the song builds up to a finish, but in my opinon, far too long. I would have liked too see the choir dim down to silence, and either sing along with the buildup end, or simply let the build up end arrive and finish it off.

All in all, a rather well made track! I would like to invite you to check out my work sometime djt820! Keep up the good fight and keep em coming!

djt820 responds:

Thanks man, About the long outro. I just tried to follow the original and thats how it goes. Thanks again for the review. \m/

Very nicely done

hey Beacon, I didn't find the piano too loud at all!

but I adore that melody, that insanely quick jumble of piano notes! This sounds live, and if you can play the piano like that, I have but no choice to tip my hat off in your direction. A round of applause sir! If it's fake... then thats one hell of a job programming it in.

In any case, this is a pretty good piece! I am not really familiar with Rachmaninoff's work, but this song makes me want to take a little dip into it. Very tense, very moving, and thats what I likes in my classical tunes!

And the song loops bloody flawlessly.

Work well done Beacon, work well done! Keep up the good fight!

Beacon515L responds:

I confess, I am, in truth, a terrible pianist... but I took me a good six hours to program in.

The loop was actually a cut- the original 11 minute MP3 was 10MB- well past NG limits. An attempt to resample it made NG think I had put it into 22.05 Khz, so I had to trim it.

Thanks again for reviewing!

I consider this account an important chapter in my life
