Slick!

as mentioned before hand it was short... but it was really powerful for what was there. Do you like using soundeffects in your pieces too!? XD, every piece I listen of yours I agree with it more and more, we both have a lot in common.

Again, you use the strings quite well, they are consistant, provide good support for the flutes and adds layers onto the piece themselves.

I am getting a semi noble epic feeling from this, which makes me think of french horns. Have you considered adding some in there? It would be a really great layer I believe, especially to compliment the flutes.

Speaking of the flutes, the melody work for them was pretty damn fine as well!

Nothing else to say itay390, another track well done! Keep up the good fight!

itay390 responds:

unfortunely, i don't have any plugins of french horns. and what i do have sounds pretty shitty. i have always had this problem, of missing plugins and samples in order to make good musics. i just wish i had a source for all those.
i always trying to expand the feelings people get from my stuff, by expanding the melody itself. i have an opinion that one flute is not powerful as three flutes together forming a chord with three notes. that is why i am always trying to make chords in my songs - because i think a rich melody sounds better than a single note and can trigger more feelings.
a problem i have is a lack of ideas to whats going to come next. when other people have this problem, sure, they are just going for the repetetive form and crack themselves off with it, unfortunely, i can't stand a repeat of over 4 partitions and i just must get something new. when im out of ideas - like in this case, the song is over.

Sweet!

hey Itay390!

The beginning of this sounded doubtable. The tubelar bells you used there were of somewhat bad quality, so it gave me a bad impression, but gradually the song really evolved, and became really powerful. I would say the second the strings came in, the whole thing came together.

Are you using Slayer as your guitar synth? A common synth, it's sad but there is no good electric guitar synths out there, what you have though is pretty good quality.

Your melodic style is somewhat similar to mine, I would like to invite you to check out my work sometime and hear for yourself!

Speaking of melody, it was an interesting idea to use the tubelar bells as a form of percussion, though I would not recommend it. The swell of the strings were perfectly placed, and really really added a lot. I love it when people do that, adds so much to the piece.

I didn't get a very sad feeling from this piece, but I got a lot of bitter, a lot of unfocused anger. And I see rain for some reason. Standing in the rain, drunk with anger and regret.

A great piece, I enjoyed it, keep up the good fight and keep em coming!

itay390 responds:

thanks, i guess i was being projected on the melody work itself.
unfortunely, there are no guitar plugins out there - but for what i had this song im satisfied. slayer lacks the dynamic stuff you can do with a guitar. anyways, i got into this melody by accident, my friend heard the "happy" part of the song and he said "lol that looks like a toy garden" so i made something to seem extremely disasterous after the happy part ended, and something really bad happend. i thought the bells in the tempo would really add to the feeling of the disaster and to the feeling that something bad is happening to this garden right now! then after he left i've evolved it to what its now as a piece for itself.
i will check ur stuff soon

:') So sweet

Hmm, i remember here other remixes of this, but I can honestly and without hesitation say that this is the best! So thick, so juicy, and full of the extreme levels of energy that I have been striving for so long to emulate with classical instruments! *That efforts are thus far a fail XD*

I really really like the ending when you have quite a few melodies going off at the same time. It is arguably a very messy segment, with sounds being lost in the background, and for my earphones at least the bass levels were a tad too high. But those are for earphones, on a sick sub woofer, this song would rupture your spleen.

After that there is a glitched up guy going "ah"? I don't know exactly what it is, but it gave a very strange effect. I didn't quite enjoy it, but I did appreciate it, if that makes sense.

There was this string like sound at the beginning, quite shrill. I did not really think it was necessary there.

But that build up into that melody... oh lawdy lawd that build up was tender...

As far as i'm concerned this a very top notch track, one of Newgrounds betters for sure.

I don't have much else to say, and anything else would be classified as just meaningless "LOL, I LYK" ranting, so i'll cut this here.

Well done Exodus, well done indeed. Welcome to Newgrounds, I hope you do well here :), keep up the good fight and keep em coming!

x-Exodus-X responds:

Ah, finally, my first constructive review. You are sure to recieve two in return!

To respond to your critism:

The shrill string...that is a common intro in many techno songs. Why, listen to te famous 'Sand Storm' by Da Rude, that song features the same high string intro.

The weird vocalistic part: that is called 'Gabber' I beleive. It was made entirely by DJ Davinster, I know what you mean by not liking it but appreciating it. He worked hard on it so i wont critisize him. It did add a cool feel though. Thanks for complimenting the melodies, i made most of them :D

Sorry about the bass, you may have enjoyed it more in the full quality version. Going to your page now!

Its great to get such a good review from such a talented artist.

:D!

I couldn't fully understand what he was saying at the beginning. All I got was "Despite what they say" and then it goes too hazy for me.

That aside, I am always in love with your ambient abilities. Truly, it's like a bone shivering crack injection. Every track makes me wonder where the hell you were when they were making Silent Hill series, or frankly any other horror game out there.

You get in there, and you get famous! And fast! DO IT! >:(!!!1

The choir was unexpected, it suddenly transformed the whole thing. In a review somebody mentioned a mansion, with this I am getting the images of ghosts of said mansion singing united. Hovering slowly over our main character, their hair and clothes flapping madly as if they were subjected to a great storm in a windless room...

Really great stuff as usual RedHot, I absolutely loved it. Easily a 5 from me, keep up the good fight and keep em coming!

RedHotPoker responds:

At the beggining it says "Despite what they say,
I can triumph,
I can win,
This is my destiny"
Just some bullshit i thought sounded deep but really means nothing. :D

When the silent hill soundtrack was recorded I was roughly 9 and banned from anything that might scare me. I suppose thats why i like to make music the way i do now.

I love the way you can create storys out of my songs. You think of such origional and fantastic ideas. Much love. <3

The bit that got me the most about this review was you saying I could work in the video game industry. Especialy comeing from some one so talented as you'r self. It truely touched me when i read that. Thank you.

Interesting

like the preview, this has such a happy energy to it. Buzzing with all sorts of positive influences.

It gets a tad repetitive though. Then again I believe the goal of trance is not to move around too much while providing some awesome twists and turns here and there. Subtle changes with dramatic effects.

I could be wrong, feel free to tell me if I am ;).

The piano part cuts off a little too suddenly, and the ending was too abrupt. The rest of the song is solid.

Keep up the good fight Pyroific, keep em coming! I'd like to invite you to check out some of my work sometime.

Pyroific responds:

thanks for the positive feed back!

Neat!

A damn sick demo... I trust you will pm me when the full version is out >:(!!!!

Not much to say, but I wanted to drop my support for the piece. I am definitely interested in the final version.

So much energy, catchy melody. Though isn't electronic music with this much energy referred mostly as Techno?

Keep up the good fight Pyroific!

Pyroific responds:

w00t! i wuv u :)

Intense

Hello Bosa! A piece like this is criminal to see with no review. You weren't kidding when you said you spent a lot of effort for it. It's I think one of your best, if not THE best work i've heard from you.

It's such a chaotic cluster of melodies, intertwined to each other. Like a kind of dark village life. I don't know why, but i'm getting the melody of a happy town, but the feel is angry, somewhat excited and focused. Maybe the town is preparing for war?

I like the bells in the background, truly adds more and more to it.

The ending with the piano was also neat. I felt the ending was too abrupt, but it makes for an excellent looping point this way.

I would have liked more layers for the piano, another countermelody, given perhaps another higher up melody!

In any case, excellent work. Keep up the good fight Bosa! Keep em coming!

Bosa responds:

You know what? I believe I will keep them coming. The zero voters may have strength, but I can be stronger. I won't stop submitting music. I will keep going.

Thanks,
Bosa

Excellent!

Hmm... what an excellent way to come in... with that filtered piano. I have to say right away I was wondering, where you would go from there.

It was a rather pleasent surprise on my end, to suddenly see such a dynamic burst of strings and snares.

So driving. It made me think of a Final Fantasy movie clip with a falling feather, in a battle field. The feather flies gently and lands on the hilt of a blade that was dug into the earth. A soldier grabs the hilt when the snares and strings swell up. The feather falls off the hilt and is picked up by the wind, and travels the desert, showing us all the devestation.

There will be no angels showing their faces here, no mercy to rear it's ugly head on the fragile souls of the participants...

A great image. I truly enjoyed this song. I felt the file size was a little large... was this exported at larger then 128kb/s?

In any case, this one was great. Easily a 5 on my scales of scales!

Karco responds:

Hey, Maestro. :) I was planning to review one of your songs and ask you to review this sometime soon but I never thought you'd come review it yourself. :D I definitely was aiming at a driving, dramatic song and your story was an interesting, fitting one. Final Fantasy also came to my mind as I was making this. Also - I rendered this MP3 a while back and submitted it only now so I'm not sure about that kbps rate, but I'm fairly sure that it was rendered at a larger rate. Much appreciated, Maestro, glad you enjoyed my song. Thanks for the review. :)

:D

XD. I really really like this melody. It's so damn sweet and playful. It's also a PERFECT loop. There was only the blasted mp3 split second silence that mp3's have, but even that was handled rather well.

Nothing much to say, but so very much to listen to. Well done Meteor! This is a slick loop.

MeteorSuit responds:

Hey thanks a lot. It feels nice to know you appreciate it :)

Sweet!

Such an interesting piece! It sounds kind of happy, a little excited. The future is here, and it's great!

This is strange to me, as i've heard too many "the future is a place of black and destruction" from so many people and places, I have forogtten how a happy future might look.

I guess I should thank you for showing me ;).

I personally like the computer beep like sounds. Really added to the piece, made me think of streams of light zipping and dashing in the sky... brilliant.

The mastering, and equalizing were perfect.

I didn't quite find the ending abrupt, I rather enjoyed the song, it loops rather well. I guess thats just my opinion!

The percussion were also neat. Diverse, and powerful.

Keep up the good fight quickshot! You are realling getting good at this! Keep em coming.

quickshot-x responds:

I didn't actually expect this song to be so popular, I've gotten lots of marvelous Reviews so far. I'm very happy you liked it! There really isn't much to say anymore, but if you read the other reviews then I guess you pretty much know everything That I had said. If you really like this you'll love cry of an Angel! Thankyou for your review my friend!

I consider this account an important chapter in my life
